Why The North Will Vote Jonathan Again – PDP

President Goodluck Jonathan will beat the presidential candidate of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari in the north, come February 14, 2015.
This was the assertion of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which noted that
President Jonathan’s soaring popularity among the voting population across the
country is an evidence.
Speaking through its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement,
Saturday, the party said President Jonathan will beat Buhari with more than two-third of
the total votes cast, as well as the required 25 percent in all the states of the federation.
Metuh noted that this was not only because the PDP controls 12 out of the 19 states of
the region, but also because the citizens are pleased with the numerous development projects he executed in the region.

The PDP said the various projects and appointments in the north have placed
Jonathan ahead of Buhari in the mind of the people of the north, especially due to the fact
that the APC presidential candidate never executed any project in the region when he
was head of state and has so far failed to articulate an acceptable blue-print for development.
“Indeed, Nigerians in the north are eager to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan come
February 14, 2015. Voters in the region appreciate the direct positive impact of the
numerous development projects executed by the Jonathan administration in all sectors of
“They appreciate the fact that recognizing that agriculture is the mainstay of the
northern economy, President Jonathan ensured that out of the 2.7 million direct
farm jobs achieved by his administration, over 2 million are in the north.
“They appreciate the fact that President Jonathan established the e-wallet system,
which eliminated the corruption in the distribution of fertilizer and other farmputs,
making the products directly accessible to millions of farmers in the region thereby
boosting their productivity. They appreciate the fact that silos are brimming and food
pyramids are returning in the north.
“In education, President Jonathan’s imprint in the north remains indelible. Today, the
once relegated Almajiri boys can now go to school following the establishment of the
Almajiri System of Education, the first of its kind, with over 150 special schools already
built, while others are nearing completion, a noble idea, General Buhari never thought of
when he was head of state.
“Also, out of the 14 new universities established by President Jonathan, 9 are
located in the northern states thereby ensuring that all states of the region have a
federal university. This is in addition to the establishment of new secondary schools and
training of teachers for quality education in the region.
“Furthermore our citizens in the north are happy with President Jonathan for his efforts
in tackling desertification in the region especially with the establish of more than 80
km of 15–row Green Belt in addition to the Presidential Initiative on Afforestation in
Kano and 10 other Northern States”.
Another reason cited by the PDP was the increased attention given to the health needs
of the region, especially the interventions towards polio eradication and treatment of
VVF among others.
The party also noted that roads in the region, that have been abandoned for long
have received serious attention under Jonathan, citing the Kano-Maiduguri
highway, the longest stretch in the country.
Other projects cited by the party include revitalization of the railways, especially the
rehabilitation of the Minna-Kaduna-Zaria- Kano narrow gauge, the Markurdi-Lafia-
Kuru-Bauchi-Gombe-Ashaka-Maiduguri line and the branch line from Kafanchan to
Kaduna, the dredging of the River Niger from Lokoja to Baro in Niger State, the
acceleration of work on the Geregu power station, the 700MW Zungeru Hydro-Power,
the 3,050MW Mambilla Hydro-Power and various dam projects including the
Kashimbila Multipurpose Dam, which is being built to contain flood from Lake Nyos in

Real Madrid Extend La Liga Lead After Winning Sociedad

Real Madrid came back from a goal down to beat Real Sociedad 4-1 and surge clear at the summit of the La Liga standings. James Rodriguez and Sergio Ramos both scored to pull Carlo Anceloti’s side back from a 1st-minute Aritz Elustondo strike before Karim Benzema twice scored in the second period to wrap up victory and send the host four points clear of Bacelona, who host Villarreal on Sunday.

David Moyes’ Sociedad have now suffered two defeats in their last six league outings and are 11th in the table, six points clear of the drop zone.
Sociedad drew the first blood with an Aritz Elustondo headed goal after only 38 seconds
but James Rodriguez planted home an excellent header from a Marcelo cross to restore parity in the 3rd minute.
The Los Blancos, who were without the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo, pushed for a lead goal with Gareth Bale twice going close before Sergio Ramos struck five minutes to
the break. The Spaniard latched on to a loose ball in the 18 yard to smash in his
sixth goal of the campaign.
Bale threw caution to the wind again before the break with the goal yawning for the ball
before eventually turning provider for Karim Benzema in the 51st minute, setting up the
Frenchman who found the bottom corner with his left-foot effort.
The third goal added bite to the Spanish league leaders’ game and they were chewing
a fourth goal 25 minutes later, when Benzema received Isco’s pass to complete his brace, poking into the top corner.
Benzema has now scored against Sociedad in their last four meetings and boats of 17 goals in all competitions.

''I Pray My Wife Forgives Me for Marrying Another Woman'' – Actor Taiwo Hassan

Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, tells Ademola Olonilua about his
It is a popular belief that you are a womaniser because women flock around you..
I am not a womaniser, I just believe that people surround me because of the love God has for me. It also depends on how you present yourself to people. I believe in self control because if you have sex with every woman that comes your way, then your life is in danger. If I indulge in such acts, I will not look as radiant as I am at my age. Most likely I might have contracted various diseases.
If I were a womaniser, I would have thought I
contracted a sexually transmitted disease during
the time I was critically ill.

  • How did you meet your first wife?

We were in the same theatre group and I
admired her a lot. I saw her and I was interested
in her. I told her that I would like to marry her
and she agreed. I later married another wife but
I believe everything in life has to do with destiny.
I vowed that I would not have a second wife
because I never fancied polygamy but it
happened and I believe it was for a reason. It is
God’s doing.

  • When you told her you wanted to marry another wife, how did she react to the news?

She felt bad and I begged her. May God give us
a good wife; if I had money I could have bought
a hummer jeep to beg my wife but I am not that
rich. I made her understand how it happened
and that regardless, it would not change
anything between us. I begged her to please
accept it as our destiny and I appreciate her for
her understanding.

  • But some women will either pack out of the house or make it unbearable for the man. Did such a thing happen to you?

Not at all, she did not do any of that. I asked
my younger brother and two of my sisters to
help me beg her. When they begged her, she
said she believed that it is destiny.

  • What is the atmosphere in your house?

One thing I like about my first wife is that she
encourages me to help people, especially my
family members. She always makes sure I
satisfy them if they need my help. When my
mother was alive, she took good care of her.
God is the only one that can forgive us our sins
and I pray that he forgives me. I also pray my
wife forgives me.

  • When you fell very ill, it was rumoured that you peddled cocaine and it got burst in your belly

I do not even know what cocaine looks like. Of
course, I heard the rumour but an official of the
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency once
told me that no one survives it when cocaine
bursts in the belly. It is normal for people to
peddle rumours against a popular person. Some
people are image makers while others are image
breakers. While I was ill, a journalist very close
to me published that I had AIDS. When I became
healthy, he began to dodge me. When we
eventually met, I told everyone present to thank
him for me because without his write-up, even
though it was false, no one would have known
that I was very ill and I could have died.
When you were very sick, did it ever
occur to you that you might die?
Of course, it was only natural for one to have
such thoughts at that period. I began to have
the feeling that I might lose my life after I had
sought for help at several places but found
none. I spent a lot of money while taking care of

  • What lessons did you learn from your illness?

I learnt that it is not everybody that truly likes
you. We have a lot of entertainers in Lagos but
only a handful cared enough to check on me
when I was ill.

  • How were you able to regain your stature because you looked very frail when you were ill?

That is the work of God because I did not use
any drug to regain my stature. I had chronic
ulcer so I had to be eating well; the only thing I
could not do was exercise. I am getting over it
because ulcer can only be managed and not
totally cured.

  • Did you have ulcer because you hardly ate?

Ulcer is not only about eating well, there was
too much acid in my body. I don’t go to parties,
neither do I drink alcohol. The day it began, I
was fasting. I was at home for seven months
without taking anything except pap. I thank God
the worst is over.

Check this Out!!! ''Why We Date Married Men'' - Nigerian Ladies

Despite having an understanding of the risks involved in dating married men, a recent finding has shown that many young Nigerian ladies still think it is far better than giving themselves to single men especially when the latter are not yet ready for marriage.

A study by P.M.NEWS revealed that most
Nigerian ladies have, at one point or another,
dated married men. Some have continued to
even maintain double relationships where they
date a married man and keep their relationships
with younger male -bachelors.
Many of the ladies who spoke with their
correspondent concerning the issue, said they
feel more comfortable dating married men than
bachelors. While some disclosed that they are
dating married men because of money, some
said they engage in such relationships because
of the maturity and
experience of the men who already have wives
at home.
However, apart from these two reasons,
P.M.NEWS spoke with two ladies who said they
were dating married men as revenge against
their boyfriends. Many of the ladies confessed
that they had to stick with married men because
they have not found a man ready to marry
Toyin Adedamola, a 36-year-old resident of
Oshodi area of Lagos, said dating a married man
“is not a big deal.”
“I am old enough to marry, but where I
don’t find the right man ready to put me in
his house as his wife, should I just remain
like a prisoner? As I am now, I don’t mind
being a second wife as long as I am
comfortable and respected like a wife by
the man,” she said.
Another respondent, who simply gave her name
as Jumoke, confirmed that she was dating a
married man but added that she was not ready
to be a second wife.
“I am dating one married man and we have
been together for two years now. He is
ready to marry me, but I am not ready to
be a second wife. Experience has taught
me that being a second wife would make
you fight for your life till death. So I told
him I can’t be a second wife.
I am only with him till I find the right
person to marry me,” she said.
A married woman, who refused to mention her
name for safety reasons, said that it is
sometimes good to date a married man for
“I dated a married man here in Ogun State
before I got married. I finally bade him bye
two days to my wedding. I had a good
time with him all through the period we
dated. I decided to date him so that I
would know how best to handle my
I felt it would also help me to monitor my
husband’s activities and keep him from
women. The man was actually encouraged
to date a woman outside because his wife
made his home hell for him,” the pregnant
29-year-old woman explained.
For Maureen, she dates a married man apart
from two regular boyfriends. While the married
man pays most of her bills, she keeps the two
boyfriends pending when any of them would
decide on marriage.
“I am getting to 30 years old and that is
not funny. That’s why I have the two guys.
But for the married man, we both know we
don’t have a future together, but he pays
my bills and assists in other areas.
I have been managing them. The married
man knows I have another person, but the
two bachelors don’t know each other or
whether I have a married man,” she said.
For Eyitayo, dating a married man comes with
risks, but she believes that in life, everything
possess their own risks.
“There was this man I dated last year and
his wife sent people after me. I was beaten
mercilessly and had to spend three weeks
in the hospital,” the 29-year-old petty
trader said.
She admitted that she learnt her lesson since
the mistake came from her.
“At a time, I couldn’t do anything without
thinking of him. Moreover, he was the one
who rescued me and made me self-
dependent. I always called and chatted
with him even though I knew it was risky.
That was how his wife knew and came
after me.
Though I have left the man, I am in another
relationship but this time, the man’s wife is
not in Lagos. The man lives alone and
works here,” she said.

Jehovah’s Witness Asks Members Not To Vote - True or False?

A report was found on PMNews as thus:
As Nigerians prepare to elect new leaders that will run the affairs of the country in
the next four years, members of Jehovah’s Witness have been banned from
participating in the electoral process and by implication, they are forbidden from
voting for any candidate or contesting in any election. They claimed that
participating in an election was satanic and contrary to God’s commandment.

P.M.NEWS findings revealed that members
of Jehovah’s Witness were warned not to
obtain voter’s cards and that they should
not vote during the elections. The directive
was not a mere order as any member
found participating or voting during the
elections will be excommunicated.
When our reporter spoke to some of the
members who confirmed the directive, they
claimed that the order was right because
they are still waiting for the kingdom of
God that is yet to be establshed on earth.
A minister in the congregation, James
Uduok, explained that every member of
Jehovah’s Witness knows that participating
in election is satanic and contrary to the
will of God.
Uduok said that the teaching of the
Witness was strongly embedded in the Bible
and all members must adhere strictly to
the teaching or leave the congregation.
The members defended their decision not
to vote or get involved in the electoral
process by quoting Mathew 6: 9 and
Mathew 4: 8.
Mathew 6: 9 says: “This is how you
should pray: Our Father in heaven
may your holy name be honoured.
May your kingdom come.”
To members of Jehovah’s Witness, this
scripture implies that the kingdom of God
has not come and they are still waiting for
it to come.
Also, Mathew 4: 8 is a scripture that dwells
on how the devil took Jesus to a high
mountain and showed him all the kingdoms
of the world and promised to give them to
Him if He bowed down and worshipped
him. Members of Jehovah’s Witness claim
that this world belongs to satan and insist
that God’s kingdom has not yet come.
When our reporter sought the views of non
members, especially pastors, their response
was contrary to the teaching of the
Pastor Jude Chukwurah noted that their
belief was strange because the same Bible
mandated Christians to respect constituted
“God recognises leadership and
authority of leaders in the society,” he
Chukwurah said even in ages past, there
was clamour for leaders as reported in the
Bible and the people elected their leaders.
Another pastor, Michael James, said the
Witnesses are misinterpreting the Bible and
should be ignored.
He warned that their belief was not
consistent with biblical teaching, adding
that if such teaching is followed it could
lead their members to imbibe false doctrine
that could lead them to hell.

15 Year Old Boy Accidentally Shot in The Penis By His Friend - PHOTO

A teenage boy was left riving in pain after his clumsy friend accidentally shot him in the penis. The 15-year-old boy from Collier County in Florida was left terrified and in tears during a 911 call in which he begs emergency services to come and help him.

The 911 dispatcher said: 'What kind of gun did you shoot yourself with? Where were you shot at?'
The boy replied: 'I don't know. Just please come get me, please. I'm bleeding out, please. I think I am shot in the arm...and I think my penis.' An emergency crew arrived at the victim's house and flew him to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida, with serious injuries, according to Wink News.
The teen, who has not been named, made the call from a home in the 300 block of 11th Street Southwest in Golden Gate Estates. However, when he was taken to hospital police
said he was initially uncooperative and refused to give them any details about the incident.
But after questioning, he admitted that his friend had accidentally shot him. He also said that he told his friend to leave the house to avoid getting into trouble.
Police said that the victim's friend returned to the scene after the injured teen was taken away and after five hours of questioning, he told deputies what happened.
Deputies arrested one of the teenagers for obstruction of justice over the mishap.
It is not known where the teenagers got the gun.
The injured teenager has been released from hospital and is in stable condition.

I Confess To My Pastor After Every Operation, Armed Robber Says

Member of a trans-border robbery gang arrested by the Lagos State Police Command
last week, 29-year David Chineye said he confessed to his pastor after every operation.
The Imo State-born suspect was among eight suspected members of the gang
arrested by the police. He said the gang’s operation extended from Benin Republic to Mali.
“I am a dedicated church worker. Nobody knew I was an armed robber,” he told
Vanguard’s Crime Guard in an exclusive interview.

He gave the name of his church as Christ Ascension Church, Benin Republic branch.
“Every time I returned from any operation, my conscience would prick me. Thereafter, I
would go to church for confession but would never disclose the exact sin I committed,” he
continued. “My wife didn’t know I was a robber either. This is because I stay in Benin Republic where she is permanently based for two months, before returning to Nigeria, where she believed I was working. I usually visited
Benin Republic when we wanted to rob and would leave after investing my loot. This is
to allow me get hints on the outcome of the operation, in terms of Police investigation,”
the suspect said. Members of his gang reportedly stormed a micro finance bank in Porto Novo, Benin Republic, last November, from where they carted away the equivalent of N100 million.
He said they were planning to expand their
operations to Togo when they were
apprehended by the police.
Explaining how he got into robbery, Chinenye
told CrimeGuard; “It all started after my
apprenticeship in a pharmaceutical store,
back in Owerri, the Imo state capital. My
master refused to pay me off. Rather, he
claimed that the money he ought to have
settled me with was spent on the treatment
of my ailing brother few months back. I left
in anger and worked as a bus conductor until
the engine of the bus got knocked.
“I was idle for some months, during which I
met my wife who was visiting Nigeria for the
first time. I went to Benin Republic with her,
where I met some friends who introduced me
into robbery. I started by breaking into
peoples’ apartments, but it was not lucrative
because at times, I won’t get anything from
the houses”.
The suspect said he decided to return to
Nigeria to find better prospects. He then met
a new gang.
“During one of our meetings, I told my
members that we should step up by going to
operate in Benin Republic, since their Police
were not as effective as ours. The first
operation was in a filling station in Benin
Republic. It took me two days to survey the
place before I invited members of the gang.
“At the end of the operation, we lodged in a
hotel there for two days, shared the loot
before others left, while I stayed back. Three
weeks later, as I was driving around Porto
Novo, I saw a micro-finance bank. I studied
the terrain that day and came back the next
day to continue. I observed that policemen
were not stationed there and that only
unarmed private guards were there.
“Quickly, I came to Nigeria to inform my
members and left back for Benin Republic.
Three days later, we struck at the bank and
made away with N100 million equivalent.
“During operation, we don’t use our real
names. For instance, my operational name is
Ishola. We have names like Mensah, Koffi,
Messiah, master, etc. This is to give our
victims the impression that we were from
Benin Republic,” he said.
He described joining a robbery gang as the
biggest mistake of his life. He also regretted
not listening to his wife who had a
premonition before he was arrested.
“Three days before I was nabbed, she told
me she dreamed that I was arrested
alongside other people for robbery and that I
was killed in the process. Since then, she has
been fasting and praying against sudden
death. But I assured her all was well and
that I was not into any dirty deal. If I had
known I would have returned to Benin
Republic , instead of remaining here in

14,000 PVCs Snatched By Hoodlums In Rivers – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that over
14,000 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been snatched by hoodlums from its officials
during the collection exercise in Rivers State. The state Resident Electoral Commissioner
(REC), Mrs Gesila Khan, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, on Friday.

According to Khan, some of the cards were stolen from collection centres in some local
government areas, where the PVCs were deposited to enable the owners have easy
access to them. While it would mean that the owners would be disenfranchised, Khan expressed no panic, as she noted that the stolen cards would be
useless. The card reader system would be used to authenticate and verify the real
owner of the PVCs before they are allowed to vote.
Khan also disclosed that her office received 2,990,056 PVCs, out of which 1,869,379 had
been distributed to eligible voters in the state.
She assured that more than 50,000 additional PVCs would be distributed two
weeks before the general election, adding that over 80 percent of the registered voters
in the state had so far collected their cards. Khan also assured that the February
elections would be peaceful because of the existing cooperation among INEC officials,
police and other security agencies in the state.

"See Reasons Why Nobody Should Vote For Buhari" – Fani-Kayode

Former minister of Aviation, Femi-Fani Kayode has described the emergence of
Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd.) as the presidential flag bearer of the All
Progressives Congress, APC, as laughable. He took to Facebook to share his thoughts
on the outcome of the APC primaries publicly kicking against the choice of Buhari.

His message reads:
Major General Mohammadu Buhari has emerged as the APC flagbearer and President
Goodluck Jonathan has emerged for the PDP. Now the battle for the soul and future of our
nation begins. The forces of light shall surely prevail over the forces of darkness and God’s
counsel alone shall stand over Nigeria. I stand with Jonathan. Let’s get it on.
”Jihadi groups killed more than 5,000 people last month, with Iraq topping the league
table of deaths, followed by Nigeria, Afghanistan and Syria.
In 664 incidents recorded in November by the BBC World Service and researched jointly
with King’s College London, the overall death toll was 5,042, or an average of 168 deaths
per day and nearly twice the number of people who were killed in the 11 September
2001 attacks on America. After Iraq, Nigeria, Afghanistan and Syria,
Yemen was fifth in the deadly league table, tying with Somalia, with 37 incidents each”-
DORO ADEBENTLEY 11 December, Facebook. All this and some people still say they want
Buhari as President? A man who said, only last year, that ”an attack on Boko Haram is
an attack on the north”? A man who said, in 2001, that he wants to ”spread sharia
throughout the federation”? A man who said, in 2001, that muslims should only vote for
muslims”? A man who said, in 2001, that ”why should christians be concerned when
muslims cut off their limbs under sharia”?. A man who said, in 2001, that ”after all the

This incident happened last year, however; many are still talking about it.
A 10-year-old African-American boy named Willie Myrick (he was 9 at the time) was kidnapped from the front yard of his guardians’ Atlanta home by an unidentified man in March 2014, after luring him with money Independent UK reports.

Islamic State Sets New Deadline For Hostage Swap - Details Here

An audio message purportedly from a Japanese journalist who is being held by the Islamic State militants said a Jordanian air force pilot who was also captured by the group would be killed unless a woman jailed in Jordan was released by sunset on Thursday. Reuters report:

The message appeared to postpone a previous deadline set on Tuesday in which the journalist, Kenji Goto, said he would be killed within 24 hours if the Iraqi would-be suicide bomber in prison in Jordan was not freed.
The latest audio recording, which could not be verified by Reuters, was posted on YouTube early on Thursday. Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference that chances were high it was Goto’s voice in the recording.
“I am Kenji Goto. This is a voice message I’ve been told to send to you. If Sajida al-Rishawi is not ready for exchange for my life at the Turkish border by Thursday sunset 29th of January Mosul (Iraq) time, the Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh will be killed immediately,” the voice in the recording says.
Jordan said on Wednesday it had received no assurance that al-Kasaesbeh was safe and that it would go ahead with a proposed prisoner swap only if he was freed.
